Peer Support Specialist

Thank you for your interest in helping others with your lived/living experience with a mental health condition.

To begin, it is important to fill out the form below to initiate the registration process for the Apostles of Life program as a Peer Support Specialist (PSS). PSS may only acquire supervised work experience while in supervision with a Qualified Peer Coordinator (QPC). It is best to wait to register as a PSS until there is confirmation that a QPC is available, so that both the PSS and QPC can register their site and supervision for the Apostles of Life program.

Required documentation to register as a Peer Support Specialist (PSS) are as follows

  • Attestation of faith as a Christian

  • Attestation of lived/living experience with a mental health condition (in recovery)

  • Letter of recommendation/support for Peer Support Specialist (PSS) to begin voluntary supervised work to hone their lived experience in supporting the recovery of another. This letter may be from either the prospective Peer Support Specialist’s personal faith leader or mental health provider.

  • Verification of necessary educational and/or training requirement completion to initiate supervision with a Qualified Peer Coordinator as a Peer Support Specialist (PSS) seeking to implement and apply their lived experience safely.
